Be Water Smart
Along with swimming skills, our aim is to teach water safety lessons to our young kids so that they are safe in, on, and around the water. We also teach them how to respond in a water emergency without getting in the water and yet they can save a drowning person

Safety tips!
Keep an eye
Always maintain constant supervision of your child and stay within arm’s reach of non swimmers.
BRING SNACKS
Bring a light snack and drink for your child. Kids are often hungry after a lesson.
ASK INSTRUCTOR
Ask the instructor which skills your child should practice, and then make practicing fun at home or your local pool!
ENCOURAGE CHILD
Remember, children develop swimming skills at different rates. Offer praise and encouragement at each lesson. Encourage your child to enjoy swim lessons and take pride in personal success.
WATER SAFETY
How To?
A person who is struggling at the surface or who is face-down in the water or on the bottom of the pool and not moving is in trouble and needs help. Tell the lifeguard or an adult right away.
TOO MUCH SUN IS NO FUN.
Apply sunscreen with a SPF of 30 or more at least 15 minutes before you go outside. Reapply it again every 2 hours and after swimming and sweating.
ROLE MODEL
Be a healthy role model! Go with your child to family swims and make swimming part of your active lifestyle.
SAFETY FIRST
Maintain a “safety-first” attitude and reinforce the steps of the American Red Cross Chain of Drowning Survival with your child when faced with a water emergency.
Drowning Prevention
Talk to your Water Safety Instructor about “how to save a drowning victim from outside the water”.
Follow the Rules
Teach students about the importance of following the pool rules.
